Berenice is one of the most well-known plays by french author Jean Racine (1639-1699) and was the text chosen for a collaboration between four actors with four different nationalities: belgian Frank Vercruyssen (from tg STAN), dutch Carly Wys, english Cathy Naden (from Forced Entertainment) and portuguese Tiago Rodrigues (from Mundo Perfeito). Berenice is also Mundo Perfeito’s first international co-production, in this case with tg STAN, a foremost project of european contemporary theatre.

Berenice premiered in March 2005, at Casa d’Os Dias da Água, in Lisbon. It toured further in Portugal, in Évora (Convento do Carmo) and Tondela (ACERT). This performance toured internationally in Norway, in Oslo  (Black Box) and Bergen (BIT-teatergarasjen), in Belgium, in Leuven (STUK) and Gent (Nieuwpoort theater); in Scotland, in Glasgow (Tramway) and in The Netherlands, in Amsterdam (De Brakke Grond).
