What do we see when we watch the news, in the evening, on a TV channel? A proposal of what reality is. A journalism firm tells us what is important in the space/time of a day. And they tell us that we are part of that reality and that we belong in it. However, this is a portrait of reality where none of our daily thoughts and actions is registered.
Using the very basic tool of ”dubbing” (like an english film “dubbed” into german), Tiago Rodrigues overlaps his own words to those of the actual news broadcasted on TV. Replacing the public and factual version of reality by an intimate personal one, he will propose another day.
The two presentations that happened in June 2009 were “studies” in which Tiago Rodrigues explored this concept with the purpose of creating a final piece in 2010.
