Stand-up Tragedy was Mundo Perfeito’s first performance and was the result of Tiago Rodrigues having proposed Luís Filipe Borges and Nuno Costa Santos, two authors well experienced in writing for comedy, to create a text about “failed” comedy. This challenge gave origin to Stand-up Tragedy, an essay on laughter and audiences, exploring the exposure on an actor and the manipulation of the spectators, while a character builds up and then falls to crumbles during one hour of solo performance. This show toured during four years and in the meanwhile a second version of the performance was created.
